Excursion: La Ciaccia – Viddalba – Perfugas – Elephant Rock – La Ciaccia
Difficulty level: medium Length: 51 km Total ascent/descent: 860 m Altitude difference: 417 m
This tour takes participants far back in time — specifically to prehistory. The archaeological museum of Viddalba documents the history of the region from the Neolithic period to the Middle Ages.
The museum also features a rich collection of Roman-era artifacts, including ceramic vases, glass containers, gold jewelry, precious stones, coins, and much more.
After visiting the museum, the route continues toward Perfugas. Along the Coghinas River, near the village of Perfugas, archaeologists have discovered the first traces of human life on the island, dating the presence of humans in Sardinia to around 150,000 years ago.
